1987 MUSTANG 5.0 Convertible UPDATE!

So for those of you who like to follow along with my work and "The Infamous Project", the BMW has pretty much been completed other than some final fine tuning. Info and pics can be seen here: Max Thread or on my website with more detailed info here. 1992 ACS BMW

So project #2, the 1987 Mustang GT Convertible! I think lots of us can appreciate these cars for what they are. The car already features some nice mods! (All built by myself back in 2004).

65mm T Body
24lb Injectors
80mm MAF

Shaved Handles, Locks, Antenna, Fuel Door

Full black 1993 leather interior conversion (including shoulder belts in the rear)
1993 Convertible top frame assembly (6" lower)
Full suite of Phantom Auto Meter Gauges
KYB GR2 struts and shocks

During The Infamous Project the car will be featuring the following modifications:

-Full paint in Matte Black
-Custom fuel door filler neck install behind license plate
-Racecraft 2" drop spindle install
-Custom rear lower control arm install for more drop
-5 bolt conversion
-18" Black Chrome Saleen wheel upgrade
-Vortech A turned S trim supercharger install! (12psi)
-Possible rear disc
-Alarm repair/install for door poppers
-Stereo install

I am stuck between Mustangs and BMW's.. honestly can't pick a favorite. Mustangs are so cheap to build and nothing beats the sound and torque and the feeling of driving one.. On the other hand.. the cornering, braking and torque of the I6 is a completely different experience! Worst part is.. you throw my SVT Lightning into the line up and I am always tossed on what to drive because the torque and power found in the truck is unreal and the 23's are always nice to roll on.. I guess it comes down to this:

If i want to drive with minimal worries about road conditions and need to move something or tow the waverunner.. = Lightning (yes i still need to be careful driving with the wheels and because it's slammed)

If i want to possibly get myself into a bit of trouble around town and slap some quick gears then the BMW

If i want to cruise and always hear the power and smell some great exhaust fumes... then the Stang!

Your not the only.

My first brand new car was a '87 5.0 LX back in the day.

Handled like crap, but the 300lbs torque and a light rear end made for easy drifting and smoke shows! I still have fond memories of it.

Votech Installed and Custom Fuel Door!

Well the car is painted! You can see here the stages of paint:

1- Base Coat alone
2- Clear Coat with "matting agent" which still applies glossy
3- Final product after drying overnight = Satin Black! (pics don't do it justice)

I was worried in the first pic appeared to be some tiger stripping but it looks to be gone now. Looks good.

That was because i had just laid the paint on that part of the hood
