Brought her home today ! I ended up having it shipped to Niagara Falls NY to a body shop near the border and went down with the car hauler and grabbed it.
For sight unseen its great ! Body & paint are fine . Starts and runs easy & quiet, and theres no grinding when I brake so , hey, good deal !
Needs rubber , cant seem to get into the glove box, and the main display for the radio is blank.
Got clipped for 6.1% duty , which I didn't see coming, but hey , what do you want for $3611 ?
Looking forward to poking around her over the next few days.
P.S. Is there some special way to open the hood? I pulled the plastic lever and there was no "POP". I'd check the manual but I can't get in there either LOL !

Looks nice....guess you can't really complain about it.
This might sounds stupid, but I assume you pulled the lever for the hood, and then tried to pull it up? When I bought my car, the lever wouldn't open my hood, I had to pull it then, go and lift the hood. It was like the hood was still latch, although it wasn't. I don't know about the 7er's, but e36's have the springs that hold and pop the hood, mine were not catching when you close the hood, so they wouldn't pop it up either.

True, it may have released but you can't tell unless you try to raise th hood slightly. Be careful not to lift it by the bezel as it could come loose so grab the sheetmetal on either side.

You have to pay duty when importing on any car made outside of North America, you should have seen that coming, no surprise.

The glove box latch has a tendency to break, you will most probably need a new one.
If the main display is out, could be the dsp is not giving any power to the main unit. check all connections.
When you pull the hood release, go to the front of the car, lift the hood slightly from above the headlights, a small latch should stick out from the drivers side kidney lift on that and the hood should open. If not, then the cable to the hood release is broken, another common problem.

Thanks for the input !!
It would seem that the cable for the hood is the culprit, and I will look at the rest of it over the next couple of weeks.
Awesome reponses !
