Thumbs up 2010 Taurus Sho

So my dad picked up a 2010 sho while he was on vacation in NB. He drove it back to ontario, very impressive car to say the least. The car has every option... adaptive cruise control, sensors all over 20" alloys.. very hightech. powered by the new 3.5L v6 twin-turbocharged ecoboost engine. 6 speed (paddle shift) 365bhp 350ftlbs torque. awd drivetrain.
stock its running high 13's low 14's one guy is running 12.7 with a aggressive tune on the quarter mile. Im quite impressed by this vehicle for 3 reasons. 1 its's a stock ford. 2 its a huge family sedan i believe 4500lbs, tonnes of room in the back and in the trunk. 3 No turbo lag.

comparing the 09 g37 to the new taurus sho

audi a8 comparison

12.7 pass with a aggressive tune.

fun car and a head turner. got 2 compliments in the parking lot of the grocery store. what do you guys think?

If I was in the market for a midzise US sedan, it would prolly be the Ford SHO, but I doubt a subtle/boring looking vehicle like that is a headturner.

(OT)With all these "Eco" engines, I am curious to see how well they handle the years. I have a feeling the US engines are becoming more and more a "dispensable" item.

I am curious to hear, if anything manufactured in the last few years has hit the mileage milestones some cars from the 80's and 90's have.

Your absolutly right about older vehicle quality being superior. When you live north of Toronto in a smaller redneck based town the car gets noticed allot

It IS a headturner....my father-in-law bought a "limited" in november and every time I got in the car with him people were staring, or taking second glances. Reminded me of driving my e30 lol.

Sooo far beyond my expectations for the 35k he paid for it. The Massage/heated/air conditioned seats are awesome, and that rear blind thing always gets me.

Def would buy a SHO if I could afford it.

Rant: **** GM I would never buy a car from them again :Rant over

yeah seats are pretty sweet. the sho ended up running 44k after taxes. huge incentives and trade in on a 03 tl type s. base price was 54k before taxes. because it has every option including dvd ect. im going to try to get it to london to the air strip in the spring... since the car was purchased in nb its not yet registered in ont (still waiting on a cheque for the taxes) ive been bugging my dad with vanity plate ideas.... im pushing for... SHO TTS (show tits) (show twin turbos)...lol but i dont think his wife/my step-mom will approve. also thinking of sho off, sho me. fo sho, 365bhp. timeand others.

Congrats to your father!

I personally would have purchased the new G35X for that kind of coin.. much rather be driving an Infiniti.

54k?? What is ford smoking... I'm sure a 2 year old SHO will sell for low 20's in 2012.. Ford's can't hold their value worth a damn.

edit: It looks like a decent car. I still wouldn't buy one, but I'm sure a lot of people will, Ford has been doing well. I'm glad the Focus is coming back.

Yeah, I was just a bit thrown back when i saw the prices on their website. I don't mean to be disrespectful, or rude towards your fathers new purchase. (I am simply just not a domestic car fan)

But, in that price range, there are a lot of nice vehicles to compare and cross-shop.

Acura TSX V6, Acura TL/ Bmw 3 Series (335)/ Audi A4 / A5 / S4 / Mercedes C Class/ Infiniti G35 .. 2010 Audi S4 starts @ 52,000!

None taken. My dad just likes ford and he liked the car car before this was a 03 to type s. He jumped into it before I could compare said vehicles you listed.
