E36 in Winter
Hi All,
New to the forum...I am toying with the idea of moving from two cars (summer + DD) to one all-year car and have been wondering how E36's are in the winter (assuming good winter tires)?
I would ideally like to pick up a lower km 328i....
Cheers,
Jon

it's not too bad in the winter as long as you have good snow tires

good winter tires. lsd and no trac control here. haha its a riot when i want it to be. but i can also keep it under control when reqd. handles great and rides well, worst case it slides its very controllable and easily predicted. always a plus. i love my e36 in the snow. 5spd+RWD= FtW!!

I've been DDing my fairly low (eibach sportlines), S52 E36 through the winter for a few years. With the LSD, and some really good snow tires I've yet to have any issues. Just don't drive like an asshat, and you'll be fine. And like some of the others have stated, going sideways at 70km/h can be a blast when done in the right conditions... I say go for it.

the fiance and I are both driving E36's this winter and so far all is good, last winter I drove the E30 (open diff) from Oshawa to Etobikoe for work all season with no issues
Its all about how you drive, turn and hit the brakes!!!

I have a dumped 92 318is with good winters, no LSD and no traction control and other then getting stuck on the snow when it is too deep I have never had a problem at all.

good winters, and the right mind, you'll be fine with the E36. My car is dropped a bit, has an lsd, and no trac. its my first rwd car, so im adjusting fine to the snow in a rwd, just gotta make sure your paying attention.

Snow tires are a must.
This is the first winter I'm driving with my LSD and it seems to help as well.

My mugger tells me that all the time.
Comming from an AWD subaru last winter, I have to say I've been impressed with the handling of the e36 so far. Decent winter tires are a must. Haven't see too much deep snow yet though.
