what are these hoses?

I need to remove and repair my pedal travel sensor, but these two hoses are in the way of the circlip.

Can someone please identify these hoses? Are they vaccuum, fuel, or coolant?

one end, near the front of the vehcile, goes into 2 silver bosch cylinders

the other 2 ends continue for about 4" of steel hose, then turn back into rubber hose for another 3" then go directly into the firewall.

I can't remove the brake sensor with these hoses in the way, and they won't be easy to remove

Just spent 2 hours trying to fit a pair of circlip pliers in the gap, pretty much impossible.

What car? Looks like fuel lines to me, but I need more context. Doesn't the sensor just pull out? I can't remember ...

Looks like brake fluid for the clutch master and slave cylinder hydraulic lines?

Id say follow the lines back towards the engine bay instead of into the fire wall to see where they originate from. that should give you an idea.

ok, then source the location and see if you can get to the clamp on the opposite end and remove the clamp.(while engine is off) see what comes out.
Surest way to tell. are you talking about those two large clamps? If so, that definitely looks like coolant hoses for the electronic heater tap.

I would not disconnect random lines. Who knows what you'll then have to bleed. Just get the Bentley manual, find the relative parts, tada.

Hey - Thanks to Emdog for posting this - its for my E36 M3 Euro Spec

Turns out those are heater valves - the hoses block removal of the faulty pedal travel switch shown in the main picture - total pain in the ass!!
