Swap your gas cap off your regular 325i and put in on an IX. It's that easy! They're right, there's no point in even attempting it.

I have to go with no. Even tho anything IS possible, you cant do it without major body work and fabrication. Altho the two cars LOOK to be the same, they have different shells; the front strut towers are very specific to the IX, and so is the front subframe location, i dont think it even bolts where the regular E30 does.

So, to get done you will need;
IX engine/transmission/transfer case, both diffs
Full IX suspention, front and rear
Full IX brakes, from booster/master right to calipers and rotors, all specific
Front IX exhaust with cat
IX shifter and linkage
Subframe, crossmember, engine mounts
Full front strut towers and frame rails
IX specific rims
IX steering rack
And last the IX specific windshield washer bottle!!! ROFL...

How about you just drop your E30 off at Eurostyle so he can part it out and buy the iX he has sitting at his shop ... that's an idea. This way I can finally get the vacuum hoses I need ...
