where to report obscene drivers to police?
Alright time to consult maxbimmer again (thanks for help about dslr last time, brought it to the game),
Last night i was driving home in the snowstorm, some guy behind couldn't take everyone driving slower and was honking/tailgating/switching lanes like crazy. Finally he gets space and pulls up beside me, gives me the finger for a good 7 seconds, then drives in front and literally cut me off while my bumper was still at his rear passenger door. If I didn't brake we would've collided instantly and I think that was his intent, because he knew how much space he had between us (none). I honk, he waves the finger at me again! Then we pull up at the light, and he's shaking his head at me like I did something wrong. What the ****?? What did I ****ing do?????
Where do you report these drivers. Tailgating, excessive speeding, etc. Is there a number you can call (not 911 obviously). Have you guys done it before? Do you think the cops actually send someone to take a look? I didn't have a video or a picture to prove he was making gestures at me but I wish there was something I could do. ****.

Me. I charge a nominal fee for the clean up. Let me know if my services can be of use to your problem. My work is always guaranteed.

^ PM him for a quote on some dirty deeds, or the cops have a non-emergency number. They will follow up.

Let it go. If I reported everyone I thought was an obnoxious idiot, it'd be a fulltime job. But then I hate everyone.

Drive to the condition of the roads not what you have. I've seen many 4x4 trucks in the ditch because they think they are invisible. Let the speeders go by and wish them luck.

I agree that you have to drive to the conditions, but do it in a right lane... I feel like i can do 45 or 55km/h so just let me pass. It also depends on your tires and skill too.

report to police. theyll follow up, especially if his actions are routine and others call about him.lol i was thinking about it today when i saw someone weaving in and out and almost hit a school bus, another thought crossed my mind, what about getting pulled for ebing on cell phone while reporting dangerous driving? haha and wouldnt your driving be considered dangerous at that point? i guess theyd expect you call when youve arrived at dest. or pull over and call if its that bad

thank you all for the suggestions (some hilarious). Do you guys have a saved non-emergency number for OPP/york region police to do such things? More importantly, do you have to leave your own contact information.
On another note, some young guy hit my friend's car and drove away quickly. Then he called 911 and said he was in a hit and run and the police showed up at my friend's house to arrest him. What is going on with this world.

Out of curiosity, were you driving in the left lane when this happened?

If you are reporting at the time of they will take the report over the phone and come immediately if you do it after the fact you have to go to the closest police station to fill out a report. I've done it before they always follow up they will actuall go to the persons house and talk to them.

I would just relax dude. I am pretty sure you and almost everyone else on this site, let alone Canada, has done some form of road raging in their life time.
Like others were asking, what type of road was this? were there people blocking the passing lane?

I say again - you will be more than satisfied with my work. Rest assured, this problem will not surface again with the person in question. Can the police guarantee you that? I think not.
Cheers,
A.
