shifter linkagae broke on my e30 5 speed????any advice.

my shifter is no longer connected to the tranny and i am stuck in 2nd gear. do i have to drop my tranny to fix this? my car ia an 89 325 is and it does not have the access from above the tranny.

depending on what broke, you should be able to access it from under the car, without removing the transmission.
