What info can I see on a 2006 X5 Nav screen?

Hey folks,

First off, I wish all of you here a HAPPY NEW YEAR, filled with health, love & job security !

Now, I was contemplating on getting a 05 4.8/06 4.4 with Nav screen...I was wondering what info (other than navigation) will I be able to see on the 16:9 screen? Will I be able to see/control other stuff such as computer info, radio, CD? Does anyone have screen pics w/different functions?

Also, are the maps & POI updated on a quarterly/yearly basis? Does BMW provide free updates, or will I have to pay for them?

Cheers !
