Goes great with my other post:

USA = 8 years with no possibility of parole for spray painting a building

CANADA = Life sentence - parole in 12 years for murdering an innocent person

USA = too harsh
CANADA = too easy

Is there no way he can file an appeal?

Look at him, he's all scrawny... probably wont be worth half a pack of smokes on the inside.

honestly, It's a form self marketing. I don't have a problem with it and I think it gives some buildings and the urban scene some character. A lot of people don't realize that these people (some of are personal friends) are actual artists and the not the common misconception that they are gang bangers and punk kids. I mean have you ever made any sort of art and you just wanted the whole world to see it? Thats their way of showing it off.

That's a stupid thing to say. If they want to "self market" then spray paint their own shit, don't vandalize other people's property. They ARE punk kids that simply don't understand the value of other people's hard earned time and money. They need to get a job and rent a billboard if they really want to market themselves.

There's no question they deserve to go to jail, just 8 years is a little much. Although after finding out that this is this guy's 3rd conviction, I really don't have sympathy for him.

I definitely agree that he's a punk for being a vandal, however jail for this guy will not help him change for the better. It will actually change him from a vandal to something worse.

The crime bill was changed too many times by the senate, so it wasn't the bill that parliament wanted anyway.

I don't agree with him proroguing parliament, even though I somewhat understand his view. Parliament was having trouble passing any legislation because an unelected body of people (senate) has been changing and/or stopping legislation that's coming from a body of elected officials. That's not exactly democratic either.

The Racing/stunting wasn't the feds, it was the provincial liberals.
