windows 7

hey guys i have a legitmate serial key for windows 7 professional 64 bit, but I dont have the software. The downloads I seem to be finding are all bullshit either they are the upgrade edition only, or theyre hacked versions from torrents.

i just need a clean image of windows 7 that works that i can use my real key on. if anyone can point in me in the right direction tat be great.

on a side note:
ive looked at the digital river download links regarding the full ISO download.. but i have a feeling its only the upgrade edition.

I installed it last week... Really... Meh... Not sure what all the hype was about - nothing's faster, Vista Business was stable on my machine without issues... Thank god I only spent $30 on it. (upgrade version)

It definately isn't a night and day difference but I've noticed it runs better on older hardware then vista did. My ram use is lower, generally.

I'm about to change over my laptop runing vista 64 ultimate to win 7 64, If i remember i'll try to run some comparisons.

I never used vista because of how laggy it was and all the bugs when it first came out. Just switched to 7 and I have to say, I'm impressed, coming from XP it's just so much easier to do everything.

+1, I only used Vista for 2 weeks before we got our copies of 7, our laptops came pre-loaded with Vista and mine crashed on the first startup and I had nothing but issues with it.

Switched to 7 and things have been much smoother.

ive been running a hacked version of ultimate for about a month now.

at the home user level there really isn't anything to write home about. To be honest, Id still use windows XP x86 if I could, but I got 4 gbs of ram now and want to take full advantage of it, and I heard that x64 of xp isn't all that fantastic. also what am I going to do. I gota legit coprorate XP x84 version, why waste time pirating a 64 bit, might as well just got with the win 7.

It seems the only difference from a home user perspective is that it is a little bit prettier. But other then a newer GUI, the changes dont really help me.

You should be able to find retail OEM ISO's on the torrents.

Anyway, back to offtopic,
I've used XP for years, Vista since the Longhorn Windows 6 beta released, and Windows 7 since the Vienna betas were released.

I had few issues with Vista as well aside from it being a bit of a resource hog. Most of the issues I've seen that cause Vista to crash were poorly written device drivers, not the OS itself. I'm on Windows 7 on my two main computers now and have no issues with it either but the only real reason why I switches is because the copies of Win7 Ultimate were free, and I have SSD's in those computers and wanted the TRIM command that Win7 supports.
