Retailers are hurting for sure. There is not much advertising or hype for any retailer when it coes to boxing day sale.

I had heard somewhere on the news that retailers were going to put the better deals on before christmas in order to keep buyers from US shopping - Looks like this has hurt them into crappy boxing day deals...

I picked up a DSLR that I've been wanting for two years. Decided on the XSi, came with bag, extra battery, uv filter and 4 gb sdhc card and I managed to wrangle the 4 year warranty with free cleaning once a year for $120 extra. The package was $600, the SD card was extra but thrown in, sweet deal IMHO.

I kinda did ok. Waited in line at Sears for 6am and was able to get a Blu-ray player. Gave up on BB and FS when I saw a line around the building @ 7 am. Went to 2001 Audio and suffered for one hour to wait in the drizzling rain for a stupid door crasher camera for my son. Both places didn't have the Sony iPod dock clock radio but @ 9:30 The Source @ Meadowvale Town Centre had six without any lines or fuss. I think the smaller shops are getting parity when it comes to electronics and no longer tied to the big box electronic shops.

I'm trying to find a Sony HDRCX100 camcorder. BB had them on sale for 499.99, but they are sold out all over

Our only two big puchases this boxing day were a Nikon D90 Starter Kit (camera, bag, bla bla bla) for the g/f and a watch for me (still to be bought). The watch shops I've gone into so far, had pretty sweet deals, but nothing that caught my eye.

I noticed the Boxing Day hype and ads were lacking for sure, but I managed to score a cute pair of D&G sunglasses that retail for around $250.00 for $76.00 yesterday, so I can't complain all that much!!

I managed to score a 60' Sharp Aquos LCD from Telecity electronics here in Brampton for 1700. 1300 off!

it was 300 cheaper then FS! Only thing i bought on boxing day.... I didnt bother going into FS. I agree these smaller stores really had much better deals then the big box stores this yeaar. Good to see some of the smaller guys getting alot more competitive for boxing day.

They needed to - they were hurting more compared to the big box boys.

No way was I waiting in any lines. I bought my stuff on line and when I did decide to go out on the 26th at 4PM, it was clear sailing. No lines, no hassle parking even... didn't find anything great, definitely not like years passed.

The Real Canadian Superstore had tons of 4GB SD cards at $10. Not a bad price.

That's a very good price for memory. Never thought of going there. Lots of hidden treasures to discover.

Yea, but it's probably class 2 memory, thats slow for real usage.

For that kind of money, I can order it any day of the week here, free shipping.
