Engine mods

Okay i have a question. What would any one do in regards to engine upgrade. Keep the M20 with a chip, stoke the M20, swap to a S50, or turbo the M20. My main concern is to keep the car reliable, but gain some advantage. I don`t want a M car, I love the E30, and from what I hear it`s the best 3 series to date. What does everyone think about what Mod to do. I don`t know what exactly I`m going to do, so I thought that I would ask the question and see what the concensus was.

Depends on budget. The second "sticky" on this part of the forum is "Inexpesive power upgrades for the M20..." Brows around... read up... Simplest upgrades are chip, exhaust and intake... start with that and see how you feel. Make sure the rest of the car is fit before you go dumping money on going mildly faster.

S52... N/A motor, plenty fast, upgradeable, and well its more expensive however it would be more reliable and easer to maintain. But if you are ever thinking of some serious engine modding... Make sure you get a clean car.
