Thinking of going this weekend or early next week. Any recommendations for a couple of first time snowboarders/skiers?

We ended up going to St louis/Moonstone. Conditions weren't bad. Some icey patches on the freshly groomed runs though. 31 runs open in total.

dbworld4k, if it's your first time, then anywhere would do to learn, and have some fun. Even a small, more local resort such as Glen Eden, or Hockley Valley would do. The only downfall is that the runs are a little short, otherwise Blue is the best imo.

I couldn't tell you, I've only been there twice ever so I wasn't looking at the trail names. I'm going back tomorrow though

I just booked a trip to Killington in January too

Go to Killington! Tremblent is good, but not as good as Killington. You might also want to check out Sugarbush or Stowe if you're planning a Vermont trip.

I didn't know what it was until I saw it, but when I did I knew I was looking at the bra tree.

LOL they are not going to be happy. It took maintenance 4 hours to clean up the mess from last year. Should be interesting this year.

I'm going up tomorrow morning and will be there til Sunday morning.

Okay so Friday sucked balls as it was raining; we got drenched in freezing rain and the terrain was mostly slush and artificial powder.

Saturday was better. For the most part it was ice due to all the rain freezing over, but on the plus side I finally learned how to carve!!

We're going to Lake Placid Sunday morning and coming back on Jan 10. Should be interesting.

Cheers.

I was there Sunday night, bitterly cold, lots of wind but lots of snow (before it all blew away).

I went to Lake Placid (Whiteface) last year, it's a fun place, I almost crapped myself when I went up to the summit though. It was my third time boarding ever and there was ice everywhere.

Lake Placid is bigger than you expect for NY State.
