Anyone go snowboarding this year??

We hit up Horseshoe a couple days ago, and it had about 6 runs open, which isn't the best considering it's horseshoe, but still had some fun!

Anyone hit up Blue Mountain yet? How was it? Planning on going this weekend, but not sure if it's worth the drive yet.

...and yes, im totally aware that Ontario resorts suck ass, lol.

i was going to do horseshoe this past saturday but went holiday instead, had an awesome time, snow was good and plenty of runs and lifts to keep us entertained, went night riding from 3-1030 and it was only 32 bucks. HV is closer to me so it all worked out pretty sweet. i had a weekday membership last year to horseshoe, but i was told the rate went up 60 bucks this year so i dont think ill bother, at least not for there.

im dissapointed by the cost of lift tickets, for the value you get.

example, MT st. Louis. That place sucks. The runs are garbage. And yet they want 47$ for a lift ticket.

Blue Mountain. 100 X better then mt st louis, 2x the drive though, and 57$ for the lift ticket. The value is so much better.

mt st louis should be like 30$ lift tickets. retarded.

I probably wont even bother going this year. If I do go, I might just save up and go to Tremblant, or LAke Louis.

In HV, do you mean Hidden Valley in Huntsville? Or Hockley Valley? Our cottage is around the corner from Hidden Valley, but never tried it out.

You're absolutely right. The ticket prices are steep for St.Louis, and Horseshoe. Just more of a convenience thing than anything else. If you go often though, i would recommend a season's pass at Blue Mountain.

Put Vermont(Killington, Sugarbush, Stowe) on your list too. It's really good, and not too far.

I hate the cost of food at Blue, unless you eat at Pita Pit.

Is it still super icy pretty much everywhere?

we usually hit up a grocery store on the way up but loaves of bread and whatever and make our own shit at the car. sounds cheap but for what you pay to feed one person we feed the group. works out much better. plus you can bring your own beer or liquor.
i imagine itll be icy right now with the cold snap and the wind. HV wasnt that bad, only one run but that run is always icy

I'm not looking forward to this season. I ended last season with Telus Ski/snowboard festival in whistler.

Everything will suck now.

Haha, ya i know how you feel. I have a couple buddies that moved to Whistler a few years ago, and never looked back. All they do is ride every season of the year.

We do have some nice places just outside of Ontario though, just not as nice as out west. Tremblent, and Killington are some of my favs.

If the conditions aren't good around here on Sunday, we might be down for that.
