Nope, I remember in 87 Mustang was on top of the list. It will get to the point where the insurance will be to high on Civic's and then people will stop buying them. Then it might be a Mustang again, who knows.

Actually they are reasonably affordable to purchase, economical, and very reliable for those who can't afford or don't care for higher end sports/luxury cars for driving from point A to point B.

There are other options though besides civics and Corolla's. ughhhh souless vehicles.

I would rather drive an 1988 535iS or Volvo 740, or MB 190E, or Audi 100, or, or , or, or, or...and be at the shop every two weeks than drive a Civic or a Corolla, I've just built up such hate for them within me. And to pay even more insurance on top of it all? BAH!

all those cars you mention are old, not every likes driving old POS, and than have to deal with all the repairs that come with it.
if you were looking for a new reliable vehicle, good fuel economy, and it is in the $20,000 range what would you get, and don't say "I would rather buy used" I'm asking about new here.

Bingo.

I like that my Civic has been in the shop twice since I've owned it, almost a year... and the bill was never more than $300.

I like that even if something is broken, it'll keep going as if nothing is wrong.

I like that $40 fills the gas tank, and it lasts.

Well, more power to you!
Your patience far exceeds mine as you’d rather be stuck at a shop every two weeks so your car doesn't break down (or perhaps it already has) when it's needed the most....during the winter months.
