Anyone have them?

Specifically looking for SSDs and CPUs.

Thanks in advance.

It's a small markup industry, any hookups won't be more than 15% off. (talking about specialty shops of course)

Yeah, I've checked all the usual suspects online... I'm only missing a few components, the rest were ordered from NCIX yesterday... they have a week long sale ending tomorrow that just so happened to have everything I needed on sale.... well, almost everything.

The SSD is the biggest hurdle. I'm having a hard time justifying the cost. It's a great little bugger, and will probably pay me back in lack of frustration over the long term, but I want to see if I can get a better deal on it somewhere.

Cheapest available price I've seen is $299. Still not bad considering what it is, but it's still a lot of money in computer terms.

Seems to be the theme these days.... the "good stuff" is harder and harder to find, and the prices go up instead of down. Made me change my video card choice, but in the end I saved money too, so I guess I still win.

Out of everything I'm building, this SSD is the one "luxury item"... it's the one thing I could completely skip and still get by without... but the advantages are awesome, despite the price. I just don't want to skip it now and buy one in 6 months and have to reformat to the new drive.... would be a hassle. Would prefer to get it all done in one shot and not think about upgrading for a couple years.

What video card did you pick up? I've been debating that for the past 4 months while using a $30 stand-in card.

Was originally trying to get a Radeon 5850, but they are insanely difficult to get right now, and the price has gone way up because of it, making it less of a deal than it originally was.

I "settled" for a Radeon 4870...

Use this link:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...7&promoid=1030

$144.99 after mail in rebate, and that deal expires tomorrow so act fast if you want it..... that's a crazy deal for that card, it was one of the $300 cards a year ago, and competes with the GTX260 Core 216, which still runs around $210 today.

www.shopbot.ca

I use this site, and then pricematch everything at NCIX. BC only has 1 tax. Most of the time, even with shipping it's still cheaper.

Yeah, that's how I found most of the NCIX deals in the first place.... I couldn't find them navigating their own website, but when I pumped the same part into shopbot, it came up cheaper each time. Probably saved about $100-150, before the MIRs.

I recently picked up a Nvidia GTS 260. Great card for the $200 range and plays all my games on full @ 1650x1050. I was going to go with the EVGA because of the great warrenty they have but heard of high heat coming from the cards so i went with BFG. More support and less issues with an Nvidia card over ATI
