Hey Doctor, I'm not sure if you're anywhere near yonge and steeles or will be anytime soon- but, five streets or so north of yonge on steeles on glen cameron there is a shop that has about 10 190e. They have been sitting there ever since I could remember. the owner of the shop lives near by aswell. He has a junk load of old merc's on his driveway. the place is easy to find.

Edit: I just zoomed in on the place threw googmaps and it says the name is antica autobody. 71 glen cameron 905-889-3770. Call em up. Hope they still have em and are parting them. goodluck.

Bimmerspecialist would be king if they offered free shipping for orders over a certain total like autopartsway does. I've used both. Autopartsway will get you your parts much quicker than Bimmerspecialist but doesn't always have the selection of BMW parts that Bimmerspecialist has. Bimmerspecialist's stuff ships from Seattle Washington across the boarder to Vancouver and then treks across Canada (at least the 2 orders that I've made so far have)

Although i really like those cars and at one point went to go check out a 190e 2.3 16v, Im just curious why not just buy something cheap and simple like a civic or cavalier as a beater? u can get a 02 cavalier with 100k for like 2gs cert/e-tested.

Just my 2cents.

Jay

^^I agree - if you buy something too cool as a beater you run the risk of falling in love with it and then it just becomes a money pit, which totally defeats the purpose....

and regarding parts I would try BMA (bmaparts.com). Although they are out of California, I've found them to have, by far, the best prices. They will ship USPS so you don't get killed at the border, and with the exchange rate the way it is right now, you really can't lose. For example, I recently bought trailing arm bushings for my 540i. Bimmerspecialist's price was $95(CAD) per side, while I only paid $44(USD) from BMA. That was for genuine BMW bushings. I could have gotten Meyle ones from BMA for something like $25. I ordered a bunch of other shit at the same time and even with shipping (cheap cause it was all light stuff), nobody this side of the border could touch the price. Bavauto was even more expensive than them. I've dealt with them a bunch of times now and it's always been pleasant. The guys there are very helpful and always respond quickly to inquiries.

Because I'd rather spend $1000 and drive a 21 year old rwd benz. I'd rather take the bus than drive a cavalier.

Unless it breaks down mechanically I won't put money into it as it's rusted...no point.

LOL it turns out it wasn't them either, but this guy knew the guy and gave me his number. He says he has one left from a 92, but wants $450 complete with the cats (mine's missing them, wtf). That's a little much... He said the catalytic converters are 2000 new lol...do i care?

As to if my car has the cats there or not, it does have a tube further up than the muffler, but people have said it's likely just a resonator...I'm not sure.

I'd retrofit a homemade cat before I bought one for 2000, lol. 450, isn't too bad. I'm sure if you had room you'd consider it a little more. (part it later).
