toronto nightlife suggestions needed
I'm coming up this Saturday night to grab a hardtop for my car that I purchased a while back. I'm bringing my girlfriend and another couple (they have never been too toronto before).
we're doing the whole tourist thing by having dinner @ the CN tower, but I'd like some recommendations on nightlife within reasonable walking distance ideally (20 min walk at most). We're staying at the residence inn downtown to use up points.
I would like a couple recommendations for lounge or club type places. I prefer electronic music (drum and bass, electro, and house).
so please help or I'll end up wandering until find something that looks decent.
thanks.

Can I make a suggestion?
DON'T HAVE DINNER AT THE CN TOWER!
Not only is it terribly overpriced, the food is garbage. There are many many many great restaurants along King St, etc that have actual nice dining. Not sure what you're looking for as far as price is concerned, but pretty much anywhere is better than there.
Go up for the sights for sure, it's fun! But don't eat at CN.

The club district is for kids. Go to one of the various bars and lounges on King St W, west of Spadina.

I'm not going for the food as much as the view since my friends have never been to toronto so it's a must, pricing is reasonable once you factor normal admission in. Last time I ate there was a couple years back and it was average, hopefully it didn't get worse. Otherwise I normally eat at "Fred's Not here" which is my GF's favorite, or try something new out.
thanks all the suggestions and keep them coming.
any places in particular on king st?

Umm, if you like electronic Sasha is playing at Guvernment Saturday night, I would definitely check that out.
Also, no CN tower dinner, go up but definitely don't eat there, lots of good food in TO, CN tower is not one of those places.
Too bad you're missing Pete Tong tonight.

Yeah, that's all I'm saying.... go to the tower, have a look at the city, step on the glass floor, all that fun stuff....... then leave, go find a nice restaurant, and eat there. You'll thank me later. Toronto has some wicked cuisine, it would be a shame to miss out on any of in if favor of CN's slop.

If it was possible I'd drive up tonight after work for Pete Tong...
I'll give you guys a review on the CN tower food when I get back. As long as they can supply me with a couple bottles of good wine and a killer view I'll be content.

I used to work at CN Tower - food was overpriced and so-so on taste. Lots of other good eats depending on what ethnicity of food you're after.

Ok. Dont eat at 360. Its easily one of the worst restaurants that i've been to in toronto.
My recommendation, find a small specialty restaurant with good food and reasonable prices, spend the rest on drinking.
I really like this place, its very reasonable: http://www.leselect.com/
As for partying, it really depends what nights you're around for, and what kind of music/atmosphere you like. If you give me an idea i'll be happy to make some suggestions.
For the love of god man, dont go to the CN tower for dinner. If you want to eat somewhere with a view, reserve a window table at canoe. Its barely more expensive, the food is a hundred times better, and the view is similar, although perhaps not quite as striking.

I listed all that you're asking for in the first post

Sorry, just woke up
Check out http://www.chevalbar.com/
Its pricey. Good music on saturdays. Its more of a lounge than a club, not as many people dancing as just chilling out and drinking.
I'll try to think of something else too, i dont party as much as i used to.

goto the 360 for drinks and do the minimum in appetizers to get you up there for free.
Have your main meal elsewhere.
