oxygen sensor??
80k on my car. do you guys think it is time to replace the oxygen sensor and the fuel filter?

yup!
those two things are part of general maintenance. O2 sensors are soupposed to be changed after 50000-60000km. the uel ilter should be change about the same or less. Usually all this is done as a tune up. sparkplugs, airfiter, decarb throttle...etc.
