^^atta boy. If your plan is over 50$, and you dont call them once a month like i do, they should give you 1000LD minutes for free almost right away just for asking. Unless you regularly talk 1000+ minutes a month, this basically means you can use your phone anywhere in canada, to call anyone in canada, free of charge.
I like finding any excuse to get rogers to give me a better deal. When i do my hardware upgrade in december, i'm hoping to get a 5$ data credit (asking for things by name sometimes help if you have a friendly CSR), which would bring my plan to 40$ with taxes.

I think that is it...$160 all in...I don't have a house phone.
Also with this I get free stuff all the time cause I am considered a Platinum Perks Client. I have gotten movie passes, a free bluetooth beacuse of the new law and I get a free phone every year.

Linds, do you really place that many outgoing calls during the day? Take a look at your usage, you could probably convince them to give you unlimited incoming for free, in which case you'd likely need 1/2 as many minutes, and save yourself a bunch of money.
There's no reason why you couldn't get your plan for around ~100$, and the only reason it will be that high is because of NA long distance (which is a huge scam, it costs phone companies almost nothing).
Another thing you could do to save some $ is drop the NA long distance, put a calling card as one of your my5, and program all your LD numbers (at least US ones) to use a calling card. You can program this directly into your contacts so that it automatically dials the calling card number, enters your pin and calls the number. You can usually get calling cars that are 2-3 cents to the USA. The only drawback there is that if you roam a lot in the states you'll incurr charges.
Note to everyone getting new plans, changing their plan.
Always try to get them to give you the best plan possible for minutes. Everything else (paying 5$ for LD, early evenings, etc) is stuff you can change/haggle about later. Get the best plan (lowest $ for amount of minutes you need), and have the rest added onto your account. Try to find a CSR who will put you on a really good plan (AKA call retentions and get a retentions plan), and then add 6$ evenings, 5$ LD, add-on voicemail, etc.
The reason for this is CSR's will give you an amazing plan with huge discounts (30$ plan with 15-20$ reccuring credits a month), since with your addons you're still paying over 35$ a month. (if your rogers plan is under 35$ a month including data you'll get audited).
You can then cancel your addons and bring the price of your plan down further.
