Maintenance

How much do you guys spend roughly on maintenance a month? I'm looking into a 2004 530i. Just want to know what I'm getting myself into.

Thanks,
Jimmy.

I've gone over 200,000 km on my 330Xi with just basically gas and oil.... Oil every 10 - 12K km..... Some guys are going every 5k, which is excessive.... Use Castrol GTX Synthetic 5W40 installed @ Mr. Lube (no fancy shops for oil changes; not req'd). Everyone can suggest that you need special oils; 5K changes and only @ top shops, but this isn't a Ferrari...... Other than that, I've done general maintenance..... All my original OE parts made it to over 170K before needing replacement. Just did shocks and springs in the spring, thermostat and belts this yr!!! Everything original (except for the swap-out parts from upgrades). Car's been a beast!! Hard driven, winter driven and still looks like it just came out of showroom..... 40k - 45K annual km driven!!!

So far $0 other then oil change every 3 months or 5,000km

My 97 540i I drove it for 120,000Km no problems at all. Then one day with 207,000Km on the clock engine broke one crank bolt.

Each car is different. Having said that I would say average around $100 per month.
