Bought a GEM - 1991 Civic Si

So I ended up buying another 1991 civic si.
Believe it or not, the car was owned by Bill Gardiner of Motoring TV on TSN.

I spoke with Bill Gardiner. He told me that when he owned the car, it was never winter driven, stored in heated
garage every winter, and had no body or paint work. He used it fro trips to his cottage and Florida.
The second owner only put 5,000 kms in 2 years.
The car is in amazing condition ! 105,000 kms, all original !
The cars' sunroof visor was signed by Bill himself...LoL
I gotta go get a spare key from Bill next week when he's not busy.

The car is beyond prestine ! Only a couple minor chips, that were touched up.
It has skunk2 coilover sleeves on OEM shocks. Those will be changed later on. Gonna add a 320mm momo monte carlo wheel, same as my crx.

Price = Priceless.
To me, there just wasnt anything else on the market worth buying
at this price point..
Gave her a wash today and took a few pics.

Some pics the previous owner sent me:

Already installed the center console and shift knob.

I had a bunch of maintenance work done to it. Everything was original, from the fuel filter, to the timing belt and water pump !

- replaced timing belt + water pump
- drained engine block and radiator, added new Honda type 2 Coolant
- new thermostat
- new alternator belt
- new fuel filter
- flushed old engine oil using Amsoil engine flush
- Changed engine oil and filter used Amsoil 10w40
- changed original distributor cap and rotor (did myself)
- 4 new spark plugs (did myself)
- replaced original spark plug wires with new NGK Blue wires (did myself)
- replaced original air filter (did myself)
- did emission smog test and passed with flying colors.
- car didnt need anything for safety certification.

Nice car, but I think the FWD drive would go more nuts over it. It looks truly MINT!

I love Civics, had a 2000 SiR, then a s2000.

As much as I loved those cars, they're not Beemers....lol

Wow, before I bought my 99 Coupe Si I was trying to find one of these in similar condition and may i say the word impossible is no exageration! Anyways not trying to complicate your op, but if Bill sold the car, to the second owner why would you be going to Bill for the spare key? (sorry but that didnt make sense to me lol)

Other then that congrats to a super clean ef! a true gem!

I got in touch with Bill through Brad Diamond (the host of motoring TV)
I wanted to get some history of the car, and he told me that he still had the spare key for the car.

Great car...and looks to be in even greater condition.... I had one of these back in 90. It was a blast to drive and the most trouble free car I have ever owned. Best of luck with it.

I sold it in April to a buddy from the crx club.
He may wanna sell it though.
