Electric Guitars, Drugs, and Alcohol

please excuse the drugs and alcohol bit, just wanted to see what it looked like hehe.

ANYWAY

i've always been a classical guitar player...didn't really play the folk guitar (for those who dont know, thats what you're acoustic guitar would fall under).

and its been bugging me for a few years now...ever since i saw the les paul i've always wanted it. (electric).

so i think im going to go nuts and just buy it!

but of course the amp.....

to those who play guitar....
i know jack all on amplifiers. Any suggestions (thats in a real good student budget!?)
thanks!

do u play in a band? I know my guitarist had to get a larger marshall amp, because the drums would overwhelm the fender amp lol.

If not, then a visit to long & mcquade could be worthwhile.

funny,
I was thinking about posting this exact thread
I currently play acoustic but would like to move to a nice electric guitar (nothing overly fancy or expensive) but would like to know a really good amp to go with. It wouldn't be used for performing but I would like it loud enough (and clear enough) to piss off neighbours lol

yep, it's never to late
I literally started learning this year. I def wouldn't consider myself good by any means but i'm learning and it's pretty relaxing to pick up a guitar after work for a while

Amps like guitars have different sounds. Best bet is to go to a music store and try out amps with the guitar you want to use it with.

With a GOOD cheaper tube amp you can't go wrong with Traynor. Very reasonably priced for what you're getting.
