+1 for Simply. I picked up Hankook W300 225/50-17 for $630. For the STi though, I did discounttiredirect.

I'm buying winter tires this year. I looked at a few canadian sites, and called a few shops. I researched some tires and decided to go with Bridgestone WS60. I just looked at 1010tires and the price was about $175.99/tire or about $758 CAD with shipping. Tire garages quoted about $225 a tire, or just over $1000 with install/balance.
Today I'm gonna order these tires from tirerack.com. I'd check it out if I were you. They have awesome prices. With shipping, duties, brokerage fees I'm gonna pay $720 CAD for these tires.
If you are using stock 16'' rims like me (205/55/16). They also have for ~$680CAD 205/55R16 Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D which are good tires. Something to consider.
You don't want to buy crappy winter tires just for the sake of putting on winter tires. You get what you pay for.

I spoke to those guys, he was quoting me $472 installed + taxes for Wanli Winter Challenger tires in 225/45/17. Thats the cheapest 17'' winters i've found. Other guys were selling the same tires for $530ish + taxes.
I'm not sure if i wanted to go with Wanli's thou, but the next option up is $200 more per set. Hankook W409 and the thread pattern is almost the same, so im not sure if i should take a chance on the Wanli's.
or for $200 more per set. Hankook W409
Any thoughts? Take a chance on the Wanli's?

Simply Tires is a great shop, but Tires23 outpriced them for me on the Hankook W409s last winter. Call both.

Tires23 can often undercut Simply by a bit, but the customer service at Simply is usually better. Not to say Tires23 can't provide a good experience, but when they get busy, scary things can start happening.
In any case, the Semperits are my budget choice of the year. Likely picking up a set for my new beater and my mom's E46.
