I have a question....
Can the same driver be listed as primary driver for more than one car?
Because I just live w/ my mom and she's already primary driver for the family car, and when I get my car I think I may have to be primary if she can't be
Also, my dad doesn't really live here (he lives in Russia most of the time, and comes here every few months), can he somehow be the primary driver?
Damnit, I'm gonna be screwed, i got quoted 15k/yr for a 35k car, and like 10k with just liability coverage....

Your mother can only be the primary driver of one vehicle unless there are no other drivers of age with a licence in the home. If there are, she cannot be the primary on both, even if u have business at 2 different companies for 2 different cars. your dad can more than likely be put on as a primary driver, just make sure to tell the insurance that he lives there all the time, not just occasionally.

OMG! I can't believe the prices you guys pay! I think the only way around paying high insurance is to get a sh!t box car for a couple of years untill you turn 25 (don't forget...no speeding tickets or accidents too).

Well here is a tip if you are dead set on keeping the car and want to lower your rate.

I suggest you shop around and get multi-line insurance (auto AND life insurance). Why spend money on life insurance? Well because it will lower your montly rate. I spend "X" ammount of money per month on life insurance but my car insurance dropped to cover that cost and then some.

Dave

This is very true, my friend did this with his 318 and he actually got lower premiums when he got life insurance (including the life insurance in the auto premium).

My dad has the house and life insurance with the auto insurance on the same company, seems to make a difference.

Multi-Line discount varies from 5 to 10%, but not more. It will also work if u have renters insurance, which u should if u are renting an apartment.
