Vacation is over :(

After almost two weeks vacation is over, so I can't wait for the next one this December

I went with the wife and a friend/his wife for a cruise (finally talked my wife into it since she was terrified of open water), so we drove from KW to Port Canaveral (~2000km), then after the cruise went to Miami for 4 days..now it's very hard to get used to this 'cold'

Props to Mr Trump for building a great hotel in Miami, I'll definitely go back there again, and for the cruise, we already booked one for Dec. on the new Oasis of the Seas..over 5000 passenger capacity.

No we won't drive there next time, since I never drove to Florida I wanted to do it once and honestly there isn't much to see along the way to justify doing it again..

Well, time to put snows on soon

That's why I would not like to get married in early 20s.

Bye bye to 2 month vacations in my homeland, and wake up at to 2 week vacation where my wife would rule the house.

Food is great, can't even compare it with food in Cuba, Mexico etc.

A LOT more entertainment, in 7 days we couldn't see half of what was available. Our room was cleaned a few times a day (every time we left bed was made).

It'll be more money than going to Cuba or somewhere like that but you get what you pay for.

I'd recommend paying a bit more for a balcony room. In my case interior room (no window) was about $800 per person, oceanview (window) $1200 and balcony room was $1750 per person, but well worth it.

One difference between a cruise and going to (I'll say again) cuba is that on a cruise alcohol is not included. Price is pretty much the same as in decent bars (corona $6, martinis $10-12 etc).

Alcohol is cheap to buy it on the boat (and places it stops at) but you get it delivered to your room last night, so you can't buy and drink it..

Freedom of the Seas has a big theater with nightly shows (magic, stand up comedy, music etc), there are ice shows (skating rink), casino, disco, you can go surfing on the boat, rock climbing, lots of shopping..

As for drinks, tab for the two of us was about $1200 for 7 days (that's alcohol, espressos and some pop).

I wanted to do a cruise until I found out that booze wasn't included in the price. I'd rather go to Jamaica again, all the booze and amazing food I can consume for about 1200 a person.
The gf and I are planning an adventure tour through Costa Rica for november.

I went to some resorts that were truly amazing and we paid $2200/per person but cruise is a different experience, IMO much more to do/see in those 7-14 days.

Example, Ibiza is nice, lots of things to do (price as expected) but that's not really a resort since you go to different places, clubs etc. Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican etc. are mostly resort oriented and there I couldn't stay for two weeks for sure.

^^unless you stay at a resort in ibiza, and then go see stuff and go clubbing. If you haven't been you should check it out, you'd probably love it. I did.

We went there twice, both time we stayed at Ibiza gran hotel and it's definitely place I'll go back to, but it's again different thing than a cruise ship (still comparable to a cruise ship much more than to resorts in cuba/dominican etc)

Let me elaborate, the place we stayed at, offseason, was 1200, normally, as you said is over 2K.
with a cruise you do see more, you are right, but booze is HUGE for me. I would never do an all inclusive for 2 weeks.

I think some people just don't like the fact that alcohol is extra even though for most it wouldn't be that much money. I mean it's a week, you can't be drunk 24h a day, so a few drinks for lunch, dinner, shows..when you go to the beach boat usually stops at 7-8AM and you're there until 5-6PM and alcohol there is always cheap ($2 beer, $4 martinis etc)

Example, cruises usually offer soda package so for ~ $40/person you get unlimited soda drinks but if you pay each time it's about $2 each and not many adults end up drinking 20 soda drinks over 7 days (since juice is free for breakfast, and ice tee/lemonade all the time) yet many do take that soda package just so they don't count how much they spend..

Then again different people like different things, that's why I'd never recommend any vacation spot to someone to the point of convincing them to go, you never know what someone may like or dislike.
