Want your car to star in a movie?

I'm connected with some actors from LA who are coming into Toronto to film later this month and into October.

They are looking for a volunteer with a convertible BMW who'd like their car to be in the movie. The shoot will be four days north of Toronto. You can stay at the shoot location or you can leave your car with the film crew. The producers would also put you into a scene if you'd like.

Those interested, send me your contact digits and a photo of your car.

If this is about Reel Wheels Canada.com then ITS A F***ING SCAM, I signed up for this years ago and got my photos done and never got a reply or anything and when you try to contact D'arcy or Jordan they never return your calls. If its not affiliated with them in any way then good luck.

Yes, I would definitely take the option of leaving my car with them, unfortunately I get camera shy and can't take 4 days to be with it. Incase the cops ask why you have my car, theres the orriginal ownership in the glovebox and I've signed it so they know its from me.

Lol anyone who takes this up deserves to have their car stolen as an expensive lesson. If a legitimate producer wanted a car, they would go and by it. The only exception if it was something like the fast and furious. They would ask you to bring your car to a special photo facility to copy what your car looks and sounds like, then reproduce it themselves and pay you royalties (because the car will probably get damged as part of the movie)

They do find cars this way also. Usually with lower budget films. I know a few guys who have agents for their classic cars. But yes, typically you are paid for it and it usually seems a lot less shady than this post especially since it seems like there has been a higher than normal increase (or at least more publicly) in stolen cars on the local forums.

Films with high or low budgets rent cars from individuals or companies that represent individuals, and usually have a fleet of specialty film rental vehicles. Sometimes they do buy vehicles if they are to be damaged or destroyed.
Just make sure it is legitimate, that there is a contract in place, that they add your car on their insurance, and generally there should be a daily rate paid which will depend on how many days they want your vehicle for.
I don't know anything about the original poster of this thread, but just do a background on the person or the company shooting the film.
It's not difficult to do and if it is legit, it will be obvious.
Don't hand your car over to an individual.

You should never have to pay to have photos taken for this kind of thing or to list your car with an agent.

When the Wayne brothers did there film up here in Vancouver they rented from the car company I worked for and had the car wrapped in a different colour than what was delivered. Never heard of any barter for hire services. Sketchy at best.
