Awesome find!

Went out for a random tour on Sunday in my '72 2002. Just south of Bancroft (about 2 hours from home), I spotted a flash of orange. When I turned around to investigate, it was a very mangled and rusty, but very complete '72 Inka 2002. Parked in front was a stripped, but very solid '72 Beetle (Baja Champion SE edition)

Investigated, and ending up picking up the pair for a song... the 2002 has been exactly what I've been looking for since I bought mine in '05, just for the odd little trim piece that's been missing or damaged. All four steel wheels are straight, the original spare tire was still in the trunk and holding air, and two of the hubcaps were in great shape (my good 02 came with a pair of decent hubcaps, but no steel wheels). OH... and the wiper motor was still good! I've been looking for one of those for quite a while.

I can't believe what a lucky (and very random) find this was... I primarily restore air cooled bugs, so the limited edition Beetle was an awesome find as well.

should have blown it up and put it out of it's misery, what a POS.

It looked like an Ontario car though!

For $100 it was worth it for the wiper motor alone...

Trust me, totally swapping rims. Nothing against bottlecaps, but I don't like them on my car... they just had decent rubber on them at the time.

Actually this car came with some good ones, and my good 02 came with some good ones as well. I've actually got some 13" BMW alloys on my car now which ended up being included with the wreck. (I've attached some pics of how she looks now... also added some Hella 500s that I had kicking around. There were already holes drilled in the bumper so I just used what was there)

Funny how every component in my wiper system was toast... when I went to replace the motor, the linkage was seized. Got all that sorted out, and they wipers wouldn't turn off- wiper relay was mostly made out of corrosion. Swapped that out, everything works well now.
