What's a fair price for this E30.

I was in Timmies last night when I noticed this clean looking E30. So I come closer and notice , it has a sign for sale. I am like what a interesting night.
Anyways I approach the seller and ask a few questions. The body looked as one as cleanest E30 I ever came over.

Here is what it is.

-1989 BMW 325I 5 speed (2 owners car since new) 180 000km
-Options wise, everything power + sunroof. ,But no sport suspension and everything fabric. So that means -> No LSD, No sport seats , no bbs wheels/mags.

GOOD
Other than that , clean and rusy free. Could not find a dime od rust anywhere, including the most prime E30 rust spots. Front Valance/fogs and grills very mint.
Bone stock , but Remus exhaust.

BAD
-No AC
-Tires on its last legs
-Power washer gun took some pain off around front fender.(half a inch wide and 5 inches long)

SELLER:
Iranian guy at his early 20s. Does not know much about the car. I ask him when the timing belt was done, he does not know! lol. He did new wipers and all fluids for 2 years of his ownership. Reason for sale, he need cash for a baby.

Price: He is asking $3000 to $6000. Highest offer $4500.

I'd beware. A guy who knows nothing about the car? Honestly what e30 owner knows ' nothing' Looks clean.... Take a magnet to it. Check the front jack points, check all the clearances around the panels, hood, boot, and doors. Check for flaking paint in the rain gutters of the hood and trunk. The paint doesn't stick there when people get cheap re-sprays, and you'll see it peeling off.

For 2.5 I'd say go for it, for 4.5 I'd say be careful and double check everything.

Mike

Yup. I mean the paint torn with a power gun tells me something is fishy. My car was done by decent paint job, and I could never take it off with a power gun. I was tired all night from work , and it was a night to see. Also he does not have a original key but the car looks very mint. I know many beaten up e30 with original keys lol. Not that it matters, just pointing out.

The price was. 3-6 is a gap for sure. Considering that he refuced $5400, that means he wants to get $5000 to $6000.

Some of these guys are just so fishy/shady.... However you want to put it. There are a ton of younger guys, they buy up cars for 500 - 2k, repair them and spray them fast, and make $$$ selling them. Problem is, they do shit work, after winter the bubbles are coming up under the improperly sealed welds. You don't want to end up with that problem... lol.

^^ Just called the BMW body shop lol. I explained the issue with a fender paint. They said, Do not even think about it lol. They said how they paint cars and if you bring a power wahser 1CM close, tha paint will stay. Let alone the talk about the original paint.

Mosly likely the fenders were done and replaced to be painted with cheap paint. Than again he said many others parts could have been painted as well.
