oil filter question

Dumb question but I just wanted to see if all e36 share the same oil filter. I understand quality may differ, but is the design and application all the same in the inline 6 e36 models including the M series.

I believe 318s have a different filter, M3's are different and the rest are all the same. I might be wrong.

They are not all the same. Use realoem.com if you want to look up which cars use what filters.
