it won't go away, you have to reset it with a airbag scan tool or at the dealer.

Mine came on after doing my engine swap and stayed on. The code said that it was a ZAE control unit failure, so I swapped in used unit from a '95 Ti (mine is a '94 325i). Now it goes out after 2 minutes and gives an error code 18 which apparently means internal control unit fault. I'm assuming that this code is caused by using a slightly different control unit with a different p/n. I've been searching for a used unit with an exact p/n match but haven't found one yet, so I might end up shelling out $560 to the stealer for a new ZAE control unit. What a PITA!

PM me the ZAE unit number you need. I may have one from my 95 325i that is the same.
