Looks amazing!

I'm no bike expert, but how does it stack up to Japanese bikes? Honda, yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki compared to BMW motorcycles in general?

its lighter and has more power then any other competitor so far... I think they claimed 200 hp... but it came down to 193 i think...

Shift assistant is nothing new there's plenty of them on the market, but this one will work with your bikes ecu, it is basically when you accelerating you just switch gears with no clutch.

I love this bike.
Very aggressive pricing considering it's a BMW motorrad.
I to thought it was going to cost more than that.
Wait a couple years and pick up a used one for <$10k.

aggressive indeed, considering highend jap bikes are around the same price or less, and other european bikes are a lot more(Ducati, Aprilia), if this S1000RR can hold its own on the street & track they will sell lots, people won't even wait for a used one.

It cuts the power ever so slightly so that you can shift with out using your clutch.

According to some magazines there is nothing that will touch it. BMW motorcycles never competed against the Japanese bikes since they were to heavy and priced to high. This is the first pure sport bike that will go head to head. The only problem I have is the headlights, WTF?
