Montreal bachelor party help

So my friends and I are planning a bachelor party for our buddy that's getting married in October. None of us that are planning it have been there before, so I'm looking for a little help from people that have been there.

Most importantly, we want to make sure we stay in a hotel that's close to where all the action is (bars, clubs, rippers).. but we don't want it to be TOO expensive... we're just gonna be passing out there for 2 nights after all... (dont want a shithole either though)

So can anyone suggest to me where we should stay, either what area or what hotel exactly?

And any recommendations on what bars, strip clubs, etc. to go to would be cool too. We're going in mid-september if that makes any diference.

thanks for any help

stay at Les Apartaments on maisoneve or however you spell that street.... and walk or cab to St.Catherine and go to club La Mouche or Opera! That should be a good time! Also if you stay at a better hotel like the Sheraton or Hilton, you can even make arrangements from the hotel to the club and they can set you up with vip... If it's a Saturday, thats a good idea, or play it safe and just be there early... ripper bars are almost everywhere on St.Catherine street...

MTL is a fun city!

I've visited Montreal just last month. we stayed at hotel La Cantlie and it was super close to everything you mentioned. and if you're 25 and under, you get a discount too.

club-wise, I'd recommend Club 737 or Twelve Thirty-Four. Light was OK too. Also, there's a ton of little bars/pubs on street Crescent and also St. Laurent. hope that helps.

are you sure, I stayed in the Sheraton in February, didn't pay more than $95cdn a night, if you want to find cheap hotels you should check online like Priceline.com or Hotels.ca, I'm heading out to Montreal in a couple of weeks as well.

Correct, on hotels and expedia maybe. If you walk in or book over starwood it will I said. I am sure it is harder to get during weekdays due to corporate clientele for their work days. Weekend is a different story.

oh yeah Mike, hotel parking isn't free if it's underground, they'll charge you $15-20 a day for parking, so if you are in the core area expect that on the bill as well.

I'm heading out there in 2 weeks, I'll keep my eye out for hotels in the area with all the rippers & bars, I'll let you know when I get back.
