AHH im screwed
Just bought an e30 about a month ago and my key broke a few weeks ago so i had to go to BMW dealership and pay $125.00!!! So i wait about a week and the key finally comes but it doesnt work!, i contacted the last owner of the car he said he never touched locks or ignition and he doesnt know if previous owners did, anyone have a clue what i can about this situation? maybe BMW might have screwed up and made me a wrong key?

the key is cut by the VIN#, so it will match the stock lock cylinders. does that key work in any other lock? glovebox, doors, trunk? maybe the ignition cylinder was replaced. did you match it up to the old key and see if it looks the same?
125 sounds pretty steep, i think i got a key cut for 30 or 40 bucks from the dealer. it was the standard black plastic one though, not the one with a light.

Something doesn't sound right about the price. I don't believe it cost more then 20-30 bucks to get a blank cut by bmw. I gotta find that one out by my bmw tech friends.
I'll send them a message Monday to see what gives about that. :-) sorry to hear your back luck.

your locks could be worn, compared to a fresh cut key so it won't sync well.
could be a possibility.

Can you compare the broken key to the new one and see how close they are?

They scamed you, i had TONS of E30 keys cut over the years, and its always been $25-30, at several BMW dealers, also in most cases it take 2-3 days, to a max of 5.
I say go to another dealer and get one cut, worst case it wont work and you loose $30...OR i should have a full set of locks with a key for sale!
Another option is to weld the 2 peces of the old key, but you need to be VERY handy!!! I've done it once before, and it worked...but you need a lot of patience....

do this - or better yet, take a pic side by side. any competent locksmith can copy a broken key, especially if its broken near the handle part, and all the little bumps are intact.
highly unlikely that the dealer scammed you, but who knows.

Its not robbery 125 is the cost of a "master key" the one with the led light. Just the key is alot cheaper.

Did he ask for a $125 key!? I dont think so...Did they offer him the $30 option...? If not, then scam it is! But if you can justify it, good for you!
