It was loud enough... not super loud, and it wasn't all the time... usually it got worse if the tranny got a little bit of abuse or being driven hard... then you come to a stop, let out the clutch, and wro-wro-wro-wro-wro-wro-wro.... it was annoying.

Like I said, I was only told that it could be the dual mass flywheel rattling around, but I really don't know... never bothered to find out.

ok, what would I be listening for the rattle,>? and if it does rattle with the clutch dis-engaged it would be it?

Dual mass flywheels don't make a little noise when they separate, they make a lot of noise and don't work. I'd bet a good sum of money that your problem was the oh-so-common input shaft bearing.
