If you take a no-front-plate-ticket to court, can you get it thrown out just by showing you rock one now? Or is it not that simple...? You could say you're holder is damaged or something but you were gonna put it on??

I got a $170.00 ticket at the beach for having a euro plate on my E36... took it to court and they reduced it to $60.00 when I told (and showed then pictures) that I now had a proper front plate... Really gheeeey. waste of my day, should have just paid the damn ticket.

Some JP's will totally drop the ticket though, and in my experience most cops will give you a warning before issuing a ticket for something so stupid...

Well that's like saying there's no need for provinces to ever have different laws.

However, having said that, I'm 99% sure the reason they "need" them here is so they can more easily use laser for speeding tickets.

So say they want to remove his plates for some reason(e.g. speeding or whatever) what do they do then? Remove his bumper or spray over it.
If its painted its illegal. If its a sticker he may be able to get away with it.
And its not an original idea as loads of cars in the uk(specially older classics) have stick-on plates like this.
Unless you meant in Canada alone!

It isn't a license plate; they can still ticket you for it. They just can't be bothered because they aren't traffic cops. A license plate is a license plate is a license plate. That is a decal, paint or whatever. :-) It isn't authentic. why not just paint a rear one on too with a fake sticker..? :-)

^^^ Agreed.
The airbrushed/painted/decal plate is a waste of money IMO...
So is the car that it's on

Now a repeat print *but different* license plates would be cool/funny to see on a car.
