So I follow what you're saying. If my boss screw with me when he renew my contract, I don't like what he's proposing so I walk, fine. That doesn't mean that I'm going to ****ing block the door of my office and not allow my co-workers to go to work. This is exactly what these people are doing. They can't come to an agreement with their boss and they **** with the people to put pressure on their boss and they're wondering why the people are not giving them sympathy. Hard to give sympathy when people are out of a job and still have to pay taxes to keep these people going. Maybe I don't understand the unions. My personal opinion is that if you're going to strike, fine, go strike all you want but don't **** with people that are trying to make an honest living.

Firstly, its not like they one day decided LETS have a strike. They were on a contract that expired. Their contract says X... They want to renew their contract, but the employer is now saying Y > X, thereofre take Y. The union says Y is a pile of shit, we want X.

Technically if youre on contract, and you dont like the contract youre getting, you walk.

Thats more or less what this is, a strike is a walk. If the city really wanted to it could say **** u too everyone and go with private enterprise, etc.

What if your employer decided that your contract was up, and they would resign you for the same job but at 1/2 the pay rate? In effect, taking you hostage for your work.. wouldn't be so cut and dry then would it now? Specially when u have a mortage to pay, and a kid to feed.q

This isnt about 1 person having their contract ****ed. Its 40,000 people.

Its like EVERYONE at your work getting the shaft. NOT JUST YOU.

Some people *cough sirex* are content with working at the beer store all their life and don't have any desire to jump up to better and brighter positions.

What would they do without the union holding their hand? God forbid they lose their job and have to look for ANOTHER ONE!

Sirex you work at the beer store...can you order me a case of Creemore lager?..I will support the unions if you do.....LOL!......forget I know you guys dont get discounts,I know the manager at the Lakeshore York location and I always bug him about discount..he gets squat.
