is correct.
Bozo, short for Bozozoku, is a trend started by the Yakuza just like Bippu/VIP.
Although Bippu/VIP car's are really nice and elegant, bozo is just atrocious.

I doubt it's anything to do with the yakuza - I don't think being noticed is a real criminal syndicate's desire. It's just a bunch of rejects.

I do wish that they saved some of the bondo money and bought a decent camera with IS... it's Japan afterall. My head hurts from watching that.
I can't believe they misspelled weird in two separate images. I can only hope it's the same author.

VIP Style refers to the modification of Japanese luxury automobiles to make them more fashionable and even more luxurious. VIP Style are typically large, expensive, rear-wheel drive sedans, though automotive enthusiasts use other cars like minivans and Kei cars. Once associated with the yakuza, VIP Style modifications now are a subset of automotive modification.

In your wiki link it mentions how it originated from Yakuza bikers and evolved from there.

21st century diving boards

mad max bosozoku

the aforementioned front mount oil coolers
when done properly its pretty badass
but then there's always the guys that take it too far
it think its apparent that bosozoku was the original "stanceworks"
