sorry bud 15 bucks no safety needed(as long as car is presently passfit)insurance from current car,you change over ownership right away and you are given a plate and temp sticker.standard procedure now.i bought an e30 last month drove it home that day after change over taxes etc.good for ten days and you are only allowed two permits for said vehicle.Mister

Correct.

You actually get a full plate, however the sticker on top right hand corner is a big red T

I also found out, that the temporary trip paper permit is back, but issued for special case situations. Cars older than 87 need a quick appraisal from a dealer. Also, imported cars have a bit extra paperwork.

They often issue this now (paper), as they can't give you the plates (even with T) until the appraisal is done.

I got one recently, so I know.

Trip permits can total 4 per car per year. I had to use 4 per car when I bought my last E36. You do need to have insurance though, just call your broker and have them extend your coverage for the incoming car, for 10days they should not have an issue doing this.

It's changed this year.

2 Temp Permits / Year (You actually plate the car, but get a T sticker).
- You need bill of sale
- Valid Insurance Slip
- Your drivers license

Paper version, completely temporary (no plates) is now available again under special cases.
Same cost at temporary plates.

Older cars needs the ministry appraisal form filled out before registering the car.
