It's because of two reasons. Oil companies want to post higher profits than the previous year, we're in a recession so they want to sell less gas for higher prices. Secondly, cars are more fuel efficient, so they are bumping prices of gas up so you will grow accustomed of still paying X amount to fill your eco box up.

Whatever it is I'd like to come up with ideas on how to tackle this. There's no point in groaning about it on car forums. Might as well use the forums to figure out a solution.
All I can think of right now is to block the Gardiner Expressway. I know it isn't original but it gets attention.

bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch. don't drive your high displacement, high octane cars and get a prius....or at least something with a small engine that uses 89 octane. otherwise STFU
have you looked at the chart on the right of the link I provided you? http://www.nymex.com/RB_pre_agree.aspx wholesale gas prices have been going up steadily. the market determines the price. as far as gas companies ripping you off....the government makes more in taxes off each litre of gas sold than the oil companies do.

The higher gas prices the more money the government makes. Our government wont do anything about it, this the oil companies know.
