Hey bud,

Definately go to town on their crooked ass. You should definately contact the BBB, and even talk to a lawyer and see if you can sue them or get damages of them as well.

The insurance company will get your car back for sure...but definately make sure you nail these crooked bastards.

wow! Poor guy! You think these guys are ruthless? The crooks won't see a cent from your Insurance company! Insurance has much better lawyers on their side than the crooks can afford to sue them for their time scamming you!

Always best to let your Insurance company deal with these problematic people! They're the most ruthless when it comes to business!

That happened to me when I was about 22 - I'd barely gotten outta my car and this guy was up my ass telling me not to worry, he could take care of things for me, have a tow truck here in minutes, get me a rental, etc. I'm thinking, "where the Hell did this guy come from?" I thought maybe it was just a coincidence, but he was trying really hard to convince me and the older lady involved that we didn't need to report the damage. Seemed like a real slimeball so I told him to beat it. Cops ended up showing up on their own (accident happened right in the middle of the intersection at Gage and Main) and apparently knew the guy. They asked me what he'd said and after I told them he ended up getting arrested lol. I had to go to court as a witness for it.

Any update on this? Did you get the car back and is the insurance company taking action?

Never ever let a tow truck take your car to any place but the dealer, Carstar, or your own bodyshop you've used in the past.

If you take it anywhere else, they will charge crazy storage fees until the insurance company decides what to do.

I have seen forklifts being used to move the car around in the yard, which does a lot of damage.

The insurance company will pay to move the car afterwards.

Never ever let your car go to a storage yard, or unknown shop.

Wow. This is rediculous. I never really expected things like this to happen. People really are twisted out there. What was the name of the physio place they took you to if you remember correctly?

I hope everything works out for you man. Getting in an accident is never fun, but when you get screwed around like this its just too much.

I had the card and had heard of the shop before, so it seemed okay at the time.

Anyways, the police took the car from the shop today and my insurance company is suing.

I'll find out about whether its repairable or not this week.

The Physio place is the Hamilton Wellness Center I believe.

Good luck! Hope you get your M3 ASAP. I know how it feels to lose a car during summer season.

Similar situation happened to my gf when her car got smashed. Tow truck driver "claimed" her and had her in his truck so that others couldn't.

Surprisingly it all worked out though and the shop was not all that bad.

Dudes are ruthless.

UPDATE:

The car is now at European autobody. Guess I'll know if it's repairable in a few days. Hopefully tomorrow.

I saw the car today, and it didn't look all that bad... You may be looking at a right off though, as the value of e36's is pretty low these days. You'll have to wait and see...
