E34 Daytime running lights Delete

I have a 1991 525I and I would like to disable DRL's , I'm sure someone has done it before on their E34. I assume there is a relay to pull out but where is it located ? Any help will be appreciated
By the way the relay should look like this:

There is no relay, you need the dealer to disable/enable them via computer.

i dont think so. older cars the lights were not programmable... as memory serves me its near the pedals close to hood release.. pain to get to.

do a few searches on other forums to see for the exact location... you can get a usa spec relay and drls will be gone.

I have done it on 97 z4 and a 5 from around 95 or 94 i don't remember where they were sorry.

did a search in etka found the part number to be 61311378052... though ironically does not show where its located... may want to check the usual places for relay... but also check underneath the steering somewhere...

Thats what I used to do all the time but I'm tired of that. I just want to turn on the car without any lights to come on.

It looks like a simple wiring because the low beam come on right when you turn the key to the position 2 .

I looked around steering column when I was putting my manual pedals in , but didn't find any relays at all , there was a big orange module which I imagine is the airbag brain.

any other suggestions where to look ?

the relay is close to towards the feet on the left side... there should be either one relay or no more than 4 i think... i don't remember 100% see if you can take a flash light and see it.

I've been looking at doing this myself. Reviewing the wiring diagrams and comparing the US spec diagram with the CDN, the DRLs on Canadian E34s are acheived by a wiring difference rather than programming or an alternate relay. There is a yellow wire that connects to the LCM as the headlight control input. On cars without DRLs, this wire connects to the switched side of the headlight switch, while on cars with DRLs, it connects to the grn/blu wire on the fused side of the headlight switch (pin 10 connected to Fuse F2).

The trick for me so far has been to figure out exactly where they connect. I have already pulled ad examined the switch and traced the wires back as far as I can. I suspect the connectionis somewhere behind the inst cluster. I haven't pulled it yet and unwrapped the bundles. If I'm going to modify this, I'd like to modify it to exactly how the non-DRL cars come out of the factory.
