850i trade
hey guys, I was recently offered a trade for my car for a 1991 850i Auto V12.
Its in good shape, no rust anywhere, only 110,000km, I guess it was babied its entire life
Hes selling it now for $15000
He wants to trade for my 91 300zx Twin Turbo.
Is this a good trade on my part

Things hidden but found by my mechanic
Needs new Struts, Oil leaking from Valve cover (Not alot but its blowing blue smoke the odd time) and a few O2 sensor, motor in electic seats is burnt out.

it comes down to, how much do you like your 300zx? and the 850i is a bad ass automobile, but a heavy V12 guzzler nonetheless. You will need to put in a little $$ to make the BMW perfect. I'd take the trade.

Ummm average price for a ZX TT in my year Left hand drive and a 5 speed in WORSE condition then mine and with twice as many KM is worth $10000.... I could easily get $14000 for my car... if I wanted to wait for someone who wasnt a 17 year old Ricer, but actually had the cash ive had a few ppl offer me $9500 cash and they would fly from BC to pick it up.
Its a Twin Turbo.... 420hp.... it will run 11.7 in the 1/4 mile with my mods
Another gentleman offered me a 1995 M3.... I think I am going to take that trade!

When will people realize that mods don't increase a cars value...
I've seen TT's sell for $5G's and take a long time to sell at that for that price.
I've been watching that car for a while - been interested in picking one up for a while, but waiting for the right one. Trying to find a nice vert, versus the hard top.

I do know that in the US the Z32 TTs are appreciating in value right now. you can't get into anything worth owning for less than 10-14 usd.
as for the trade, if you want to do it I would try to get him to throw some cash for the things your mechanic found since your car needs nothing... that's how I would bargin this one.

No just when people say something is worth half the price when clearly they do not know what they are talking about.
If I was married to it or loved it that much I doubt I would try to get rid of it.....
