HID headlight

So one of my ballast went out for my headlights and I searched for parts and realized that it costs $400 for the ballast alone. I resort to getting an aftermarket ballast and igniter for just CAD$ 50. I got it from this guy in Markham.

Nice guy to deal with. I purchased my interior LEDs from him and I am impressed with everything.

Did I say I was happy to save alot of money?

cheers

It still kills me that dealers think no one knows how much HID components cost. I had a customer the other day who paid 328$ for ONE D1S bulb for his saab, it blew in 9 days, and they wouldn't even exchange it for him (no warranty @ dealer).

Seriously.

Led lights eh? Did you wire in any resistors or can they take the 12-14V? (and last...)

Surface mount or conventional leds? I'm looking for a local place to buy leds for my interior/license plate.

Ivan, can you repair ballasts? One of my igniter cords is dying. I also need mounting brackets!

Flav, i can custom order that stuff aswell.

I can/could, but its unlikely this would be economically practical, as replacement ballasts are very inexpensive.

What kit do you need mounting hardware for?

Wow! I would never pay that much for a bulb. Thats the cost of an entire HID kit. What is wrong w/ him

LEDs for the interior do not need a resistor cuz they are not tripping any sensors. They are basically plug and play for some parts of the interior. For others I had to drill the hole slightly larger for the bulb itself to fit thru

Pacific Mall sells LEDs in pods that replace the conventional bulb pods. I m not sure if your car has warnings or not. On the e36s its a simple pop in, and led interior+ plate lights, not sure about e46.

Propr'one,

I wanna know who is the seller sold that guy a D1S bulb for $328, with no warranty or exchange.

It seems that you are talking about me, ExtremeBrightLEDs.com, as RockerGuy post a link of one of my auction above your thread.

I really hope you can clearify who that seller ($328 for one D1S bulb) is.

I am selling D1S for $129.99US a pair, sometimes with 15% off:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/D1S-H...Q5fAccessories

Also I hope nobody will say lies about other sellers to gain business.

Thanks,
Jacky

^^ He wasn't referring to you at all man...

I know the leds won't trip any sensors (except the license plate lights), BUT I have heard they receive too much voltage (and unstable voltage at that) which will make them die way too quickly without a resistor. So I'm wondering if a technical guru can confirm this.

As long as the interior LEDs are off when you are driving, then there won't be any unstable current and therefore the LEDs will be fine.

For the License plate, you might need to install the load resistor to prevent the warning.

Thanks,
Jacky ^_^
