aftermarket stereo wiring harness

Hi guys,

Anyones got a link to a DIY for e46 aftermarket head unit installation?

I took the factory deck out and also bought a 02-05 wiring adapter harness from futureshop and dont seem to understand how the harness coming out from behind gets connected to the adapter harness i bought from futureshop.....

nevermind the tard at futureshop gave me a double-din harness although i told him 5 times i need the single-din..

so i got the new harness that connects perfectly and everything works good except that i have no sound.

Is this the classic stock amp does not turn on case?

can i run a wire directly from the HU harness all the way back to where the amp is?

if yes, which wire from the HU and which wire from the amp ? are supposed to be connected together?
