Need advise e39 ?

I have 1998 e39 528i have 180000km on it, already replaced ball join and control arm at 90000km about four years ago, but recently i found that my steeling wheel shaking on hwy during 80 to 120 km wheel, balance already done it is ok, do i need another replacement of ball join and control arm soon? thanks!

You can try thrust arm/control arm bushings. These are the items that go. Lot of techs recommend to get the whole arm replaced... which is what i did about 110ish K km.

Sounds like the classic BMW Trust Arm Bushing problem (do a search on this forum), but at 180K if you haven't done any suspension maintenance since 90k then you're probably due for some at both front and rear.

Where the shop I can get it check and fix it with good job and price beside dealer?

torque all the wheels to proper specs... It fixed my problem with 80lb ft.

any indy shop will run you between 700-1000 depending what parts you need beside the thrust arms.

I don't want to mislead you, since you haven't done much in terms of suspension maintence you really should get a mechanic to inspect the suspension and give you an estimate, as I said before at 180k chances are you will need more than just the thrust arm bushings. If you've worked on cars before it is reallly is not difficult to change out the parts but you have to wait until the weight of the car is on the suspension before tightening some of the bolts.

I would get the inspection / estimate and go from there... .
