City lights FTW :) AE's gone! ***PICS***
Alright so it took me and my buddy about 12 hours to take out the headlights, take the headlights apart completely, unglue the lenses and the angel eyes, clean every piece, black out the projector backing, get [amber] city bulbs, install back (and install the HIDs properly drilling through the headlight plastic cover).
I still have to make a better wiring harness and you guessed it get amber corners!
Only problem I'm having right now is that with the ignition OFF and the headlight switch on parking, the right city light won't turn on! As soon as ignition is on it works. I have a bunch of missing fuses I need to replace though. Anywhere other than BMW that I can get proper good quality fuses?... not the clear shitty quality ones that melt/rip apart (both have happened to me)
I hope the black paint doesn't peel or bubble. We didn't let it dry enough and it isn't high temp paint as far as I know. :S
I honestly think this looks sooo much cleaner and classier than the angel eyes. (AE's are for sale if interested). Switching back to amber corners in the front soon too and maybe 4300K hids instead of the 6k.
For the pics, keep in mind the white balance adjustment is a little off on the shit camera phone and the car is DIRTYYYY. These pics do not do it justice at all, much better in real life..
Better pics and daylights pics to come.
PICS:
The HIDs aren't that blue, and the ambers are a deeper amber. Also the same reason why the fogs looks so white when they really aren't.
and the look I want in the end (although this doesn't have the blacked out projector backing).......

I need one of your AE ballasts. Let me if know if there's a chance you want to sell one or even both.

I'd rather sell the AE's with ballasts to someone who wants em. How much you wanna offer for the ballasts though? I might do it.

It's unique and a pretty cool idea. But I dunno... It just doesn't work for me. If you are gonna get rid of the smoked corners wait until I buy an M3 and I'll trade you the ambers for yours. lol

I have to agree they're getting a bit played out... that's why I wired in a switch on the back of the headlights, so I can shut them off when I get sick of the look... anyway, looks good Flav

I couldn't pull the car out during the day today (it was wet). I got some more pics with a better camera and I TRIED to get the white balance better. Cameras really crack out when they're on auto with such varied color, they don't know where white is. I'll post some in a bit.
I'm thinking of MAYBE taking off the laminx protection. It would look cleaner without...but I'm scare it'll pop from rocks or just get pitted. Although replacement lenses every 3 years would be ok...

i wired up citylights for bmw7 3 years ago. Its a nice look. Try LED city lights, then you ll get a HID like look for the inner lights
