Anybody have transmission input shaft?
Anyone have one lying around? I need to align my clutch and would like to use the real thing instead of a Universal tool.
Please let me know
Thanks
-Dan

I know what you mean, I wanted something similar and ended up using that damn universal tool.

How'd it go? were you able to get it alligned properly on the first try? I just wrestled a GM auto tranny off the car and even though the G260 is lighter I still don't want to be messing around with it for too long, My arms are killing me!

What pilot bearing diameter? I have a G240 off an M42 almost apart that I could lend you the input shaft from, but it's for a 15mm pilot bearing IIRC.
I also won't be near TO until at least the weekend.

Not actually too sure of the diameter dimensions, Don't worry about it. if I can't find one from a 260 I'll just use the tool.
Thanks for the help guys

ACS_DAN, that input shaft will work if you're willing to wait to borrows it.
I haven't driven the car much since i installed the clutch this winter but so far very good!

PM replied.
What is the application you want to use it for? Most earlier cars used a 12mm pilot bearing... according to realoem it looks like the changeover happened late 1990-ish.
From what I can tell it looks like the 260s all used the 12mm bearing.
Edit: Part numbers are 11211720310 for the 15mm bearing and 11211709681 for the 12mm.

That confirms it, I'll need the 15mm one.
Thanks for sorting that out.

Wait, so you need the 15mm or the 12mm?
I have the 15mm but I think you need the 12mm.

I need the 15mm one. I made an error in my postings, this is actually a 250g tranny, so it utilizes the 15mm pilot bearing.

Ahhh... well, I can see if I can get the rest of my 240 apart and lend you the shaft from that. I'll be driving through TO on Saturday and Monday.

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it. No worries if you've got other stuff to do and can't get to it.
What time would you be passing through Toronto?
PM sent.
