RECALL: 2002-2003 M3 *emissions recall*

There is a recall on all 02/03 M3s for parts that need to be replaced pertaining to emissions and software.

Call your local stealership and get it going fast before they change their mind.

Called BMWNA first, they confirmed, and then called BMW of Mississauga and booked.

What's the fix? (and what's broken?)

its campaign number 08E-A03.

2002-2003 (2003.5 mabye?) also get a extention of their emissions warranty to 10 years. 2003-2006's also have (will have) similar warranty.

People are saying the cars are slower once the fix is done (which is a DME reflash, no actual wrenching)

Should I bother taking my M3 in or not? hmmm

Unless they're giving me a brand new exhaust system for free, I'd be hesitant to ever step foot in a stealership again!

did they tell you the advantages of this recall?

or is it just a way to detune the vehicles to allow for less emissions?

That's my guess as well. I think I'll skip it, and just get it done if I ever fail an e-test or something. Until then, I'm not worried (unless the car is going to blow up!)
